What is a background?
Backgrounds are the colors or designs that fill the space behind all of the objects on a page. Backgrounds are made by tiling little squares across the page. These tiles automatically fill the browser regardless of the size of the browser or the website.

Click on Insert Tab>Illustrations Group>Insert Picture. The Open dialog appears.
