backgrounds that have a design (graphic background). Technically, any graphic can be used as a background on your page. If you want a graphic background for your page, you can use the Backgrounds Gallery, the Insert Bacground command to insert a background of your own from a file or Paste as Background any graphic image.
There are many free backgrounds websites on the internet. If you make a background in a program or on the internet, then save it into a folder as a gif file and then insert it onto the page.
Add a graphic background to your page from the Gallery
- Click the Background gallery tab to open the gallery.
- Scroll through.
- Drag and drop a background onto the page.
Use any graphic as a background
You can make any graphic into a background. However, backgrounds on the internet are made from small graphics that are tiled across the page. Graphics that are used for backgrounds are usually seamless to give them a smooth look. If you use a graphic that is not seamless, it may not give you the look you want.
Put a graphic into the gallery
- Click on the graphic.
- Hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys.
- Drag and drop the graphic into any place in the backgrounds gallery does not have the sub gallery icon.
You can also use the right click menu to Copy and Paste a graphic into the gallery.
Use the right click menu to paste a graphic as a background
- Right click over a graphic. Choose Copy.
- Riight click over a blank spot on the backgroun. Choose Paste as Background.
Insert a Background from a File
- Click on Page Tab>Background Group>Graphic. This opens the Open dialog.
- Find and select the file you want to use as a background.
- Click Open.
- The background fills the page.
